Late-Autumn Beach & Nature Moments
November brings smaller crowds, golden light and a quieter ocean-side scene. Lightscape at the Botanic Garden: November 14 – January 4
The San Diego Botanic Garden’s annual walk-through light installation Lightscape is a standout: one-mile of illuminated trails, creative installations, music, and pure holiday magic! Encinitas Holiday Street Fair Sunday, November 23| 9 AM – 4 PM | Downtown Encinitas
Get ready for a quintessential Encinitas tradition: arts & crafts vendors, live music on multiple stages, rides and activities for kids, plus a beer garden (and yes, pup-friendly too)! It’s not just about holiday shopping – it’s a full community vibe with street-fair energy, music and laid-back surf-town flair. Encinitas Turkey Trot Thursday, November 27 | Begins 7:30 AM | South Coast Highway 101
Start Thanksgiving morning with one of Encinitas’ most beloved traditions — the annual Turkey Trot! Over 6,000 runners are expected to join this fun and festive event featuring 5K and 10K races along scenic Highway 101, plus a Kids K for the youngest participants. Costumes are encouraged, and awards are given for the best individual and group outfits. Proceeds benefit VANC, supporting veterans and their families, and Boy Scouts of America Troop 776. Every participant receives a medal and t-shirt.

31st Annual Lighting of the Heritage Tree Friday, December 5 | 4–6 PM | Moonlight Beach (Upper Parking Lot)
Join the Encinitas Historical Society in partnership City of Encinitas for this cherished community celebration! Enjoy festive music, holiday cheer, and a visit from Santa & Mrs. Claus — arriving in style! Encinitas Holiday Parade Saturday, December 6| 5:30 PM| Downtown Encinitas
This festive parade rolls down historic South Coast Highway 101 and is all about fun, floats, families and the holiday spirit. It’s a perfect moment to experience Encinitas’ community warmth and get into the winter-holiday mood — beach town style! 18th Annual Cardiff Kringle Mingle Sunday December 7 | 10 AM–2 PM | Cardiff-by-the-Sea
Cardiff 101 welcomes you to the Kringle Mingle, a free holiday gathering for the entire community. Take a photo with Santa in his vintage Camera Camper sleigh (11-2pm), enjoy live music performed by local musicians, and get artsy with crafts for children. Holiday treats, hot coffee, and hot chocolate will be provided by in-kind sponsors Mochichis, Grocery Outlet Bargain Market in Encinitas, Starbucks, and Cardiff 101 Main Street. Encinitas’ historic 101 corridor from Leucadia to Cardiff is dressed for the season with local boutiques, surf shops, specialty foods and holiday-gift gems.
