Red, White & Beach: Celebrate Independence Day the Encinitas Way
Independence Day lands on a Friday this year, making for a long weekend of fun to soak up sun, celebrate freedom, and enjoy summer in full swing! North County San Diego is bursting with patriotic fun, from small-town parades to beach traditions and epic fireworks just minutes away. While Encinitas doesn’t host its own fireworks display, nearby spots like Carlsbad, Del Mar, and more are lighting up the sky. Whether you’re parading through Olivenhain, chilling at MoonlightBeach, or catching the grand finale at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, there’s no shortage of Fourth of July fun!
Live Like a Local and Start at the Olivenhain 4th of July Parade
Kick off the day bright and early at the beloved Olivenhain Parade, starting around 11 a.m. at the Meeting Hall (423 Rancho Santa Fe Rd). Boy Scout Troop 2000 will lead the pledge of allegiance and then the parade will commence making its way around the block. Families decked out in red, white and blue decorate bikes, wagons, even ATVs. It’s small-town charm at its best—great for selfies and post-parade picnic on the grounds. More information here.
